Central England Counselling Psychology Forum

Since 1999, Counselling Psychologists in the West Midlands have met under the banner of the Midlands Network (subsequently renamed as the Central England Counselling Psychology Forum). This group has provided a forum for counselling psychologists to support each other, exchange news and views, and develop knowledge and skills through continuous professional development events.

As the number of Counselling Psychologists in the Region has grown, and new challenges to psychologists, such as Statutory Registration and New Ways of Working, have emerged, the need for a strong local group has grown.

In light of the changing face of Counselling Psychology in the Midlands the Inaugural General Meeting of the Central England Counselling Psychology Forum was held in September 2006.  At this meeting a constitution was agreed, and a committee elected.  This placed the Forum on a more democratic basis, and ensured that structures were in place that would ensure its future, and promote its development.

For the Forum to be effective however, it needs a strong membership. If you are a qualified Counselling Psychologist, or a Counselling Psychologist in training, and live or work in the Midlands, we need your support. You can support us by joining the forum and by supporting forum events.
